Red Court in Pergamon

pergamon red churchThis monumental temple was named as ''Red Basilica'' thanks to red bricks used to build it. The temple is thought to have been used for the worship of the Egyptian gods, specifically Isis. Though at one time to be the house of the Devil it was converted into a church with the rise of Christianity. Red court was converted by the Byzantines into a Christian church dedicated to St John but it is massively destroyed right now. Also some foundings suggest that one of the towers was used as a synagogue. This unique building stands different than many other monuments around thanks to being used by four religions dominated western Turkey.
